  • Toscano is now Disneyland
I had not been to Tuscany in 30 years. It’s still beautiful, the food is just as good, but tourism is causing a pernicious form of gentrification. There is only a fixed amount of Toscano but there seems to be more tourists, I suspect, because of the amplification of beautiful things by the maelstrom of… Read More »Toscano is now Disneyland

Recent Tasting Notes on CellarTracker

  • Tasted by rogerr. Agree with recent notes. It is mid to full body for a Sancerre probably because of the abv. Good concentration and nice complexity. Finish is not memorable. Nice. I don't think it will improve with more age. Drink up. (90 pts.) – Tasted 7/18/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Nice Pecorino within my experience of the varietal. Medium bodied and intense on the palate. Slightly degradation on day 2. Drink up. (90 pts.) – Tasted 7/14/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Good acidity, simple, clean. Garagiste "mystery" wine with decent QPR but nothing memorable about it. (88 pts.) – Tasted 7/13/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Drinking beautifully. Agree with recent posts. This is not a heavy, over ripe, Napa effort. Nicely integrated with good acidity. No signs of age. Drink or hold. (93 pts.) – Tasted 7/12/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. This Roero Nebbiolo has lots of stuffing and is made to cellar. Classic, old school, Nebbiolo but with a clean, meticulous style. Good value. (92 pts.) – Tasted 7/4/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Demonstrates Arneis may improve with some age. This wine was stunning when tasted at FIVI Roero tasting 2024-06-15 in Bra, Piemonte. (92 pts.) – Tasted 6/28/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. A bit closed upon initial pour (I decided to not decant it.) After about an hour, it gained balance and complexity. Classic and delicious. I understand some of the previous notes but my impression over about 3 hours of sipping deserved higher score. (92 pts.) – Tasted 5/30/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Light and crisp. Nice balance on the palate. Bubbles are a bit large but also generous. Has a pleasant, clean, finish. Very good value for the price. (90 pts.) – Tasted 5/30/2024.
  • Tasted by rogerr. Probably should have cellared this but was curious. Drank over 3 days. A bit harsh on first taste but opens up nicely after about a half hour. On day 2 it peaked with flavors in balance. Enjoyable but not highly memorable. Day 3 still holding up but dropping a bit. Will buy […]
